Dry Ball Mill vs. Wet Ball Mill

Ball Mill Classification
Ball mills can be divided into two types: dry ball mills and wet ball mills, suitable for different materials and processing requirements.

Dry Ball Mill vs. Wet Ball Mill

Wet Ball Mill
In wet ball milling, a certain amount of water or other liquid is added to the material to improve its fluidity, which in turn increases production capacity. Wet ball mills are ideal for processes where high output or materials prone to agglomeration are involved.

Dry Ball Mill
In dry ball milling, the material’s fluidity is lower, which may directly affect production capacity. To improve material flow, an exhaust fan can be installed at the outlet to create negative pressure in the cylinder, increasing material movement and grinding efficiency.

Application Difference
1. Wet Ball Mill: Suitable for ores, cement clinker, chemical slurry, and other materials requiring good fluidity.
2. Dry Ball Mill: Suitable for refractory materials, certain mineral powders, or water-sensitive raw materials.
